Spent 3 weeks here and loved it. Most rooms look out over the water, the deck is gorgeous and sits over the water, and the restaurant makes amazing food. My favourite was the seafood curry which had large chunks of fresh fish in it. The owner works hard to make the food as farm-to-table as possible. The owners are fantastic, and Tina is one of their new additions who is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend staying and eating here.
We had a lovely family dinner here at the Nimpkish restaurant. Do suggest that you bring a sweater and blanket if sitting outside for dinner. I had the halibut and chips, it was so delicious! Top knotch! Not greasy, light batter and 2 pieces of thick dense halibut. My cousin had the seafood curry on rice and wow did it smell fantastic! I recommend this place to eat!
Ate here a few times while staying on the island. Food was good, with a lot of options. They have daily specials and a very nice atmosphere. In summer months they have a large deck tonenjoy some great views while you enjoy a beer or a meal. They have varying hours to be aware of in off season but unsure about high season.
We were grateful that we had dinner at the restaurant on our first evening on the island. Although we did not stay at the hotel, meeting the hotel owner, Capt. Will improved our trip by leaps and bounds. Kind, gracious and very knowledgeable about Vancouver Island. He was very engaging at multiple random encounters. We booked the more affordable room, it was small but the bed was very comfortable and did the trick. The owners are extremly welcoming and they alone are the reason we will come back. The food at the restaurant they run is delicious and decently priced. The views from the hotel patio are beautiful and made for a very relaxing and romantic stay for those looking to get away for a night.
Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful views from my room and delicious food. Great shared spaces (breakfast room and restaurant) allowed comfortable interactions with other guests. This hotel is part of the fascinating history and culture of Alert Bay!
